| JM Cruiz is a rock/jazz/fusion/blues Guitarist from Tacoma Washington, who writes in an eclectic blend of genres. My career as a musician started in the orchestra as a violinist and moved into Guitar as my main Instrument. Although rock has been my main genre, jazz & the blues were always in the mix, fusing jazz with rock in my early rock band years, around the same time Bitches Brew by Miles Davis and John McLaughlin’s Wings Of Fire were released. Jazz has always been a primary goal, but really did not take hold within me as far as playing, writing and recording, until groups and artists like FattBurger with Steve Laury, Spyro Gyra & Larry Carlton started coming on strong in the eighties. I have released 9 jazz & blues Cds since 2000 and 4 rock Cds since 1996. It has been an interesting ride and a very enjoyable one. |
